Actually, I'm over here

[Note: this isn't my blog; my blog is here. This is a pale imitation. You can either click and go to my blog now or read the entertaining prose below and then go to my blog. Either way, please go there. It'll be worth it, promise. Ta.]

Many many years ago just after the Dawn of Time but before Time had sat down to Breakfast I had a blog here on blogger.com. They were wild days and free, when mere hundreds of us bold pioneers blogged bare-handed into the wilderness with nary an idea where we'd end up.

Some traversed the great open spaces and reached the Elysian Fields.

Some turned back.

I turned back. The wheels fell off my blog and I lost heart.

By the time I was ready to set out again, Interstates had been built, planes flew, railroads traversed great ravines. Or, rather, blogger had been joined by wordpress, livejournal, myspace, typepad and a quadrillion others. The challenge wasn't in the travelling, it was in the writing. Where it ought to be.

I abandoned any pretence of being a career blogger and realised that what I wanted to be, really, was a writer. Simplify, said Trudeau. He was on the money with that one.

So I chose wordpress as my weapon of choice and put my blog there. And there it stays.

It's called No-one cares about your blog, Laurence. That was true once. It's less true now, if you'll permit the fuzzy logic. But all the same I'd be terribly pleased if you cared about it in some small way.

Please go and have a little look. It needn't take more than a few moments. You might find something you like.

See you there.

I don't think Blogger likes you trying to lead people astray to other places!

None of those links you embedded work!
